Why Women’s Health Can’t Wait: My Journey Behind Freya Clinic
Women’s health has come a long way — but for many women, the experience of being truly heard, understood, and supported is still missing. It’s something I know personally, not just professionally.
Before founding Freya Clinic, I was a woman navigating my own complex health challenges. Like so many others, I found myself moving through appointments where symptoms were minimised, root causes were overlooked, and care felt fragmented rather than holistic. I was searching for answers — not quick fixes — and for a healthcare model that treated the body as an interconnected system, not a collection of isolated symptoms.
That journey changed everything.
When Personal Experience Meets Clinical Practice
It was this experience that led me to pursue formal training in women’s health and nutrition, driven by a desire to understand the body as a whole and to take a more holistic, root-cause approach to care. What started as a personal search for answers became the foundation of my clinical practice — and ultimately, the vision behind Freya Clinic.
It wasn’t about doing more — it was about doing things differently.
The Vision Behind Freya Clinic
Freya Clinic was created to reimagine what women’s healthcare could look like when it is truly personalised, evidence-based, and woman-centred.
At its core, Freya Clinic is built on three principles:
1. Listening deeply
Women have complex bodies. At Freya, we take the time to listen fully to each woman’s story — her symptoms, history, lifestyle, and goals — because real answers live in the details.
2. Identifying root causes
Rather than masking symptoms, we focus on uncovering why they’re happening. Hormones, gut health, genetics, metabolic function, stress physiology — everything is connected, and understanding that connection is key to lasting change.
3. Empowering women through personalised care
Healthcare should be collaborative, not prescriptive. We equip women with the knowledge, tools, and strategies they need to feel confident and in control of their health — now and in the future.
Featured in High Life North
Being featured in High Life North was an opportunity to share not just the clinical work we do at Freya Clinic, but the personal story that shaped it.
In the feature, I spoke openly about my own health journey and why I believe women deserve better from healthcare systems that too often rush, overlook, or oversimplify. It was important to me that the story reflected both sides: the practitioner and the woman who has been there herself.
Because Freya Clinic isn’t just a business — it’s a response to a problem I know intimately.
Helping Women Thrive — Not Just “Get By”
Today, through Freya Clinic, I have the privilege of supporting women at every stage of life: from hormone balance and fertility, to gut health, metabolic optimisation, and preventative care.
Optimising health isn’t about perfection. It’s about understanding your body, recognising patterns early, and creating a foundation that supports long-term wellbeing — physically, mentally, and hormonally.
Most importantly, it’s about women feeling heard.
Why This Work Matters
Women’s health can’t wait. Not for symptoms to worsen. Not for burnout to become normal. Not for answers that never quite come.
Every woman deserves care that is thoughtful, personalised, and grounded in both science and compassion. That belief is what drives my work every single day — and why Freya Clinic exists.
If my story resonates with you, I encourage you to read the full High Life North feature. And if you’ve ever felt your healthcare journey could have been different, know this: you’re not alone — and holistic healing is possible.
